Opening Ceremony watched by over 25M!
The Olympics finally entered the psyche of the British public on Friday night with the largest TV audience for a single event for over 20 years. What a superb show Danny Boyle created for the world to see – full of majesty, pride, reflection, mourning and humour.
In recent years Britain has played the role of contributor, follower and underdog to many of the larger nations of the world and it was about time that we were reminded of how GREAT Britain was and can be again.
The best businesses out there have the ability to re-invent themselves to enjoy success at different stages in their evolution – Virgin, Apple, Take That, Manchester United and Madonna for example have all continued to be successful despite having to change what they offer to suit evolving markets. These last 20 years Britain has been going through its own evolution and right now it is trying to hard to come out of recession and enjoy success once more.
Having witnessed the fantastic imagery and sound created for the opening ceremony there is alot to be optimistic about. If some of the people watching the event are galvanised into positive action as a result then I am certain that Britain can be truly GREAT again and again.
